At Jorgensen Mutzelburg Dental, regular dental check-ups are the foundation of lifelong oral health. These appointments allow us to detect potential problems early—before they become more complex, costly, or uncomfortable.
What Happens at a Check-Up?
During your check-up, our experienced dentists will perform a thorough assessment of your teeth, gums, jaw joints, and surrounding soft tissues. We look for signs of decay, gum disease, tooth wear, bite alignment issues, and oral cancer. When needed, low-radiation dental x-rays help us see beneath the surface for a more complete picture.
We’ll discuss any findings with you and take the time to explain your options. If no treatment is required, we’ll simply recommend a recall interval that suits your needs—often every six months.
Hygiene & Prevention
Our dental hygienists—Sara, Tanya and Margaret—play a crucial role in your preventive care. At your visit, you’ll receive a professional clean to remove plaque, tartar, and stains, and we’ll apply fluoride or tooth-strengthening treatments if appropriate.
They’ll also provide personalised advice tailored to your needs, including brushing and flossing techniques, dietary guidance, and lifestyle tips to help you protect your smile between visits.
Why Regular Visits Matter
Dental problems often start silently. By coming in regularly, we can catch and treat issues early—before they cause pain, require major work, or affect your health and confidence. A check-up is your best defence against gum disease, tooth decay, and long-term oral complications.
